Sculpture, Certificate of Achievement (COA)
Sculpture, Certificate of Achievement (COA)
A Sculpture Certificate of Achievement (COA) provides students with foundation-level technical knowledge, skills, and aesthetic judgement in preparation for advanced study in this area at a four-year institution or professional art school. Students develop conceptual tools and technical skills in three-dimensional art forms. Instruction focuses on the formal study of spatial relationships as well as the context and history of 3-D art objects and their settings. Skill development emphasizes traditional modeling, casting, joining, and welding techniques as well as the use of newer technologies. The certificate can lead to a career focused on individual studio practice, industrial design, or ceramic or arts instruction at any educational level. This certificate provides a secondary area of emphasis that can complement any Art AA or AA-T degree.
