Health Sciences, Associate in Science
The Associate in Science in Health Sciences prepares students for transfer to baccalaureate programs in Health Science and related disciplines, including CSU Channel Islands. The program provides a foundation in biological sciences, health sciences, and quantitative reasoning while developing critical thinking and scientific literacy. Students complete lower-division coursework aligned with university requirements to support successful transfer and upper-division study in health-related fields.

To earn an Associate in Science Degree in Health Science, students must:
- Complete a minimum of 60 CSU transferable units. Students planning to transfer to a UC campus instead should complete 60 UC transferable units. Some HED courses in this major are not UC transferable. Please refer to ASSIST.org and verify UC transferability on the UC Transfer Course Agreement or verify with an Oxnard College counselor.
- Complete the Cal-GETC Pattern. All courses for the Cal-GETC must be completed with a grade of "C" or better.
- Complete the required coursework for the Health Sciences major as listed in the Oxnard College catalog with a grade of “C” or better (or a “P”) in each of the courses selected.
- Achieve a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or better in courses used to satisfy the degree requirements.
- Complete a minimum of 12 semester units within the Ventura County Community College District.
