Advanced Manufacturing, Associate in Science
Advanced Manufacturing, Associate in Science
The Associate in Science in Advanced Manufacturing prepares students with the latest information and technology in both the lecture and laboratory settings. Students have access to the most modern software and hardware to learn concepts within: additive manufacturing, laser technology, 3-5 axis CNC milling, CNC Turning, CMM inspection, CAD/CAM fundamentals, and general manufacturing processes, industrial tools and technologies found in industry.
A comprehensive set of undergraduate courses are offered for students interested in working toward the completion of a COA in CNC Machine Operation, COA in CNC Machinist, as well as the A.S. in Advanced Manufacturing, transfer classes for university credit and general interest courses for the returning student looking for skill improvement and employment in local industry.

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate Manufacturing Proficiency:
Apply workplace safety standards, interpret engineering documentation, and operate manual and CNC machining equipment to produce precision components that meet industry specifications. - Apply CAD/CAM and GDT Principles:
Utilize CAD software to design parts, generate CAM toolpaths for CNC machining, and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT) standards for part inspection and quality assurance. - Integrate Automation and Advanced Manufacturing Technologies:
Program and operate CNC machines, collaborative robots (cobots), and additive manufacturing systems, demonstrating an understanding of automation and smart manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
