The Areas of Interest at Ventura College comprise six broad groupings of similar programs in the college's Guided Pathways framework. Programs within a single Area of Interest group can lead to similar employment opportunities. Areas of Interest are designed to help students focus on a study pathway that fits their unique strengths, interests, and personality. The goal is to help students avoid unnecessary units or courses while still providing broad career and major exploration options for undecided students. The link for each Area of Interest provides more information about affiliated programs and career opportunities (including representative salaries, level of education typically required, and job growth data for a variety of related careers) as well as recommended course sequences to complete each program.
