Game Design, Associate in Science
Game Design, Associate in Science
The Game Design program is designed to prepare students for freelance careers and/or entry-level employment as independent game developers with game design and development companies. Students explore creative, technical, critical, and design-based solutions to real-world issues such as understanding and awareness of diseases, equality, and financial management, making statements through games and gameplay, and training or educating for careers or scenarios outside of games. All of this will come together to meet the rigors of a dynamically evolving array of game-oriented professions.
To earn an Associate in Science Degree in Game Design, students must:
- Complete a minimum of 60 associate degree-applicable semester units. Students planning to transfer should complete 60 CSU transferable or 60 UC transferable units, depending on their intended transfer destination.
- Complete the Moorpark College’s General Education requirements to include Areas 1-7 or the Cal-GETC Pattern. Transfer students should plan to complete the Cal-GETC Pattern. All courses for the Cal-GETC must be completed with a grade of "C" or better.
